Magnolia Creek Treatment Center Grand Opening

Columbiana, AL – April 26, 2017 – Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders hosted a grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 20 to celebrate the addition of the new 10-bed residential cottage. This addition to Magnolia Creek increases the capacity to a 24-bed residential and partial hospitalization program to meet the needs of those suffering from eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Columbiana Mayor, Dr. Stancil Handley, and community leaders were on hand to assist Linda Smith, Executive Director, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. In addition to the ceremony, guests enjoyed food prepared by Magnolia Creek chef, John Ray, who regularly hosts a cooking course on site that educates clients on the basics of cooking. Staff members offered tours of the facility, which sits just outside of Birmingham on thirty-six wooded acres that include a private lake, walking trails, outdoor therapy area, and a recovery garden.

“It was such a pleasure to welcome our guests to the Grand Re-Opening of Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders. We cut a ribbon to open a new cottage and to commemorate the expansion of our program. This event symbolized a new beginning for us, focusing on creating a fully supportive healing environment for our clients. To see the people that have been so encouraging, come together to celebrate is very special. We look forward to continuing to enhance what we already have in place,” said Linda Smith, Executive Director.
